ARCHITECT/DESIGNER II

Our client is looking for a full-time Architect/Designer II in San Francisco.

EXPERIENCE: Recently-licensed architect or non-registered graduate with 3-5 years of experience; responsible for particular parts of a project within parameters set by others.

DESIGN SKILLS:

• Understand the principals’ design philosophies and current trends throughout the profession

• Understand and implement the building program

• Understand the overall building concept of a particular project

• Understand and respond to the technical implications of design development decisions

• Develop design ideas into practical, buildable solutions

• Assist in the selection of finishes and materials

• Develop and coordinate presentation materials

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Implement code, accessibility, and zoning analyses

• Prepare mock-up drawing packages

• Develop practical, buildable details

• Develop and draft the full range of Construction Documents in Revit

• Assist in preparing specifications

• Understand engineering terminology, concepts and drawings

• Assist in technical and design coordination of documents

• Direct the review of shop drawings and coordinate project conditions.

• Perform field observations.

• Perform construction administration duties.

MANAGEMENT SKILLS:

• Understand the effect of architectural and construction budgets and schedules

• Work with contractors and consultants

• Represent the office at meetings and site visits

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:

• Respond to demands of peak periods without loss of quality, thoroughness and accuracy

• Adjust to changes in assignments, conditions, techniques, and priorities

• Participate in presentations and group situations

• Take directions and function as a cooperative member of a project team

• Deal with clients, employees, and consultants tactfully and diplomatically

• Accept responsibility and seek out additional responsibility when appropriate

• Meet company standards for attendance and punctuality

• Communicate effectively orally and in writing

Full-time direct-hire opportunity. Hybrid in-office 3 days/week; 2 days remote. Competitive salary with good benefits.
