Hiring Work from Home Mid-Level to Senior-Level Interior Designer for Commercial Offices!
Position
Our client is looking for someone who has a great sense of style, is an efficient project manager, and communicates well.
Mid-Level Designer responsibilities include supporting their Lead Designers with site measures, space planning, sourcing, budgeting, vendor/contractor communication and coordination, project installations, and styling. You may also assist with or oversee purchasing and expediting (alongside their dedicated purchasing agent). Over time, the Mid-Level Designer may run their own projects, with supervision provided by their senior staff.
Senior Designer responsibilities include running your own projects and supporting other leads on their projects, as needed. The vast majority of your time will be project-based, however you will be asked to participate in operational tasks as needed, including new staff onboarding, design process improvements, performance reviews, and misc. PR activities including photo shoots. You will also take an active role in maximizing the firm’s productivity and profits by ensuring the team’s adherence to billable time goals, adjusting internal resources as needed, and proactively managing internal processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or equivalent
Full-time access to a reliable car. Mileage is reimbursed at IRS standard rates
Minimum 5 years of related experience for mid-level and 8 years for senior level – experience in commercial interior design is required, ideally including office design
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and construction documents
Experience using Studio Designer is ideal but not required
IDEX, NCIDQ, LEED, and/or similar certification or coursework a plus
Good balance of left brain and right brain skills – you should be creative AND organized
Excellent management and communication skills
Team player, positive attitude, strong desire to continually learn and grow
Excellent troubleshooting and prioritization skills; you are considered a ‘closer’ and get things done
Schedule
Business hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. They would prefer a full-time hire but are open to candidates interested in part-time as well. Our team works from home and stays connected via phone, text, email, and Zoom. They also travel to job sites as needed for projects, and meet in person typically once a month, and for fun social events, roughly 3x/year.
